    corsair hx520 cable question

Just purchased one of these and it works perfectly, but the pci-e cable for my gfx card <8800gt> does not click in all the way on the card, i can see the clip part wanting to go into the little indent on the card but it just does not stretch far enough, so even though it works fine its not 100% secure, just want to know if this is normal?

Is the notch on the card for the cable tab to lock into dead center in relation to the 6-pin plug on the card? Is the tab on the cable long enough and it is off center in relation to the hole in the card?

    Re: corsair hx520 cable question

    Hi

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I also have the same problem regarding my HX620.
Although the graphics card is a different make the power supply lock will not extend far enough to click over. It may be due to the reference design of the 8800GT but it seems odd that we both should have the same problem. It isn't a problem while it's attached, but to be fair it didn't seem like the strongest of contacts and would take little effort to fall off. Yellowbeard, it all seems lined up just the locking arm isn't long enough by what, say 1-2mm.

Anyway, just making you aware that it is not an isolated problem, btw my PSU was fitted only last week in a new build.

    Cheers

My HX620 is a older model with just 6pin PCI-E power cables, they fit perfectly into my 8800GT, but I tested a VX550 and the 6+2pin PCI-E power cable did not fit perfectly, and exactly as the picture illustrates.

my HC520 clicks onto my 8800GT with no problems, although I have removed the stock cooler, is that the part that is obstructing?

No, see the post just above yours. The true 6 pin connectors that come with the HX series are not an issue. The reports I have seen at the 6+2 pin connectors, see pic above.

I also have the 8800GT and the 6+2pin PCI-E power cable that came with my HX520 has the same issue. Is there any chance you can send us replacements that don't have this issue? I am in the UK.

    Thank you

I've emailed them again and no reply. I did send an email a month ago too but no response either.

Looks like they deleted my email without even reading it as I got an autoreply message saying "message deleted without being read".

    Any advice please?

I will ask them to check the SPAM box and see if you got kicked over there. What subject line did you use? Send me a PM with your full contact information including the email address you mailed CSG from, shipping info, and exactly what cables you need.

Unfortunately the forum will not allow me to PM you.

Also, do I have to pay for the shipping fees from the USA to the UK?

    Kind Regards
