Does it power up (all fans spin) and then pwoer down again, only to power back up again?

I see you have Crucial Ballistix there, try powering up with 1 module.

Ive tried with just 1 module and still no go. It gets power for a second then shuts down but doesn't power up again. Ive tried testing it by bending a paperclip into the green power and the ground wire which should power the psu fan but again the fan on the psu turns for a second then stops and doesn't start again. Any ideas ?Thanks for the reply by the way.

That would indicate the psu is broke as it should power up with this method. What motherboard are you using?

    QX9650 @ 4.2ghz 10x420
    MSI P35 Neo2 FR mobo 2 gb Crucial Ballistix 5300 4 4 4 12@840 mhz MSI 8800GTS 512 Corsair HX620 psu

i am using this psu and it is perfect,

check your jumper connections at motherboard, i.e. hard disk, power, reset, etc....

verify that your motherboard is not touching your casing,

pull out all pci cards, (except vga)

When you did this test, did you have a load attached to the PSU? You need to fully disconnect it from the MOBO and have at least a couple of case fans or something attached to draw power and show the unit a load.

atmadden : Im using a gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R motherboard.
Voodoo54 : Ive checked all connections taken them all out and put them back in. I put in all the brass spacers for the mobo so should be ok that way.
Yellowbeard: When i tested it i connected up a couple of fans and still did the same thing. Its a shame cause was so looking forward to getting it up and running.

Sorry to hear you got a bad one. Please let me know if I can assist with your RMA. Is your vendor close by or did you buy it online?

    Re: hx620 problem

Bought it off dabs.ie (online) Im in Ireland but they are in UK. They organised a pick-up but having horrid trouble with the courier they sent. They picked it up but are saying they didn't and on the tracking it says "no parcel to pick up" It has cost me a fortune with phone calls and time trying to sort it out. Dabs emailed me saying the courier has cancelled the pick-up so won't find out til tomorrow when they open again. So god knows when ill get one back .What a pain
