    Please rate my PSU

    Hi all

Apart from wattage, I have zero knowledge of PSU's. I used the below PSU for my new build and just wondered how it stacks up?

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seasonic-S12.../dp/B003BIEOCI

I currently experience the odd random crash when gaming on my GTX 670 and I dont believe its my PSU, however due to my lack of knowledge in this area i cant be certain and just want to gather thoughts as I'm looking to upgrade to a new GPU and wouldnt want the extra power consumption causing further problems.

The PSU is only the problem if it is faulty.

Hopefully you didn't pay £90 for it, because it is not worth that much.

take the side off the PC

aim a house fan into it

    game...

    if no crash.. it's heat

    If still crashes...

download Memtest and burn to CD

boot from CD and allow Memest to run .. if errors.. memory is broken

    If not...

move to our general hardware section and ask for help

not likely to be the PSU.. they normally either work or dont UNLESS you have lots and lots of hardware plugged in

Nope, I actually paid somewhere between £30-£40 for it last year, which I believe was a good deal? The crashing isnt too bad, its just occasional and only on certain games which I find strange.

    Thanks for the info Zak33

Would say the same. Also to check the overall general state if the PC, run Memtest to establish memory subsystem functionality & integrity (no need to burn to CD, USB boot options are also available from the website with manual of what to do).

If Memory OK, try to run stress programs for the CPU and GPU and watch the temperatures.

If they are OK, can still check the HDD.

To update your drivers efficiently, I suggest SlimDrivers (just watch out for the junk during installation).

That should cover the majority of your possible issues.
