Looking to upgrade my Freesat box - How is the 'new' Freesat/Freeview EPG?

Hi folks, I'm currently using a Humax Foxsat HDR which although serving me nicely as an alternative to paying Sky a fortune per month is sorely lacking in the EPG department.

I know they have freetime and am wondering whether an upgrade to a HDR 1000S (or other box?) would be worthwhile, disc size isn't an issue as I get on fine with just 320GB but the EPG is starting to grate.

For info the deals I've seen so far are:

Humax 1010S (1TB) - £199
Humax 1000S (1TB) - £189
Humax 1000S (500GB) - £149

I'm tempted to go for the 500GB 1000S.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

We've been using a Foxsat at home for years now... the EPG is certainly far from decent, but for looking when things are on we generally use mobile devices (both my parents have iPads) with the TVGuide app works really nicely for us. Maybe a solution for you without costing anything?

I have the Freeview HD Humax box HDR Fox T2 which once flashed with the hacked firmware is arguably the best PVR on the market. The EPG is excellent and can be controlled from either your computer or phone and is much better than the SKY EPG imho.

Fantastic PVR, one of my best purchases over the years :-)
