Lib Dems, basically because the main two are basically identical anyway.

Lib Dem I think, although there is not much chance of that. Best realistic outcome would be no overall majority for Labour meaning the Lib Dems could prevent a lot of legislation passing, kill ID cards, etc. But it will be another clear majority for Labour in the end.

    Re: General Election

Lib Dems? I'd worry that if they got in they wouldn't do anything for 3 years. They've had some polices over the years i've agreed with, but look at cornwall, cornwall has not so much as a CM of motorway, it dosen't even have dual carrageway all the way to its capital. Why? They voted Lib Dem, when the motorway reached exeter, why go further? Plymouth got 3 lane dual carrageway, but cornwall had a retarded electroate.

Tories worry me, they don't seam to stand for anything, and we all remeber the incompitence and corruption of the 90s.

But New Labour... Bloody Hell. I swear generations will think that Red Tape is red because of new labour. Not to mention the policy of taxing those who aren't lazy, for the sake of those who are, whilst completely ignoring pensioners.

So Tories it is, praying for lower taxes, and the return of civil liberties.

You reckon the Labour Government is red then??

I'll be voting Tory (probably) for two reasons:

    1) Our Lib-Dem MP is a waste of space. He's a scrounger and I've written to him twice without even the common courtesy of a reply. I'm very angry with him.
    2) Only Lib-Dems or Tories can win in my area hence I'm (probably) going blue next time.

Honestly, I think they're all as bad each other though. (Lib, Lab, Con whatever.)

    I'm quite disillusioned.

Why people still trust Labour is totally beyond comprehension. Obviously lying deceptive idiots make popular people.

They're called "politicians". Not so sure about "popular" though.

    Re: General Election

You need a "None of the above" option on the poll.

There's no point in voting for any of them. All it gives you is a feeling of having some say in the running of the country whereas anyone with a brain and two eyes can see that we don't have anything like that.

They are all self serving, lying, manipulative, devious and corrupt. All the parties have their own agenda and the only time they do anything that we, the people want them to do is when it coincidentally falls in with their plans.

To be perfectly honest the whole system of "democracy" that we allegedly have is deeply flawed.
Merriam Webster defines democracy as "government by the people"

I'm sorry, but I don't think that making a mark on a piece of paper once every four years or so to elect someone who will then do exactly as he or she chooses or as his party bosses commend constitutes "government by the people"

What we need is a total shakeup of the system. Sweep away the current corrupt political structure and replace it with something else. It's had a fair crack of the whip but it clearly doesn't work. Time to try something else.

    Re: General Election

I'll be voting Tory purely because the local Tory MP is reasonable and takes time to respond to me if I feel the need to write to him.

The main failing of the current system is the political parties. If your MP was allowed to vote freely on every issue, the system would be far more effective at representing the people because you know, you could go to your representative and make your views known.

Very VERY few MP's are willing to buck the party line because it's what their constituients want unfortunately
