    "Supernatural" is just a term we use to explain the currently inexplicable. If you could go back in time 500 years with cell phone technology, it would be described as supernatural or magic. (And you would probably be burnt as a witch or warlock!)

    I don't believe in ghosts, simply because of I don't think that there are spirits with nothing better to do than roam the earth. It also depends on what definition of ghost you use, but generally I don't believe in the supernatural.

    Back when I was a lad there was a local Gypsy (an actual Romany). Really nice chap all the locals would stop off to see and have a yarn with. One night having a beer around the fire a mate asked him if he was scared of the dead / ghosts and that sort of thing.

    His reply was "it's not the dead you need to worry about." Kind of said enough for me...

    Re: Ghosts?

    Ghosts are not dead people or spirits. They're 'beings' in a world parallel to us and in a dimension unknown to humans.

    Best explanation will be Lord of the Rings, when he sticks on the ring and vanishes into the 4th dimension! lol

    unexplainable != impossible.

    Re: Ghosts?

    Ghosts, always beleived in them when young, even to the extent where a few things happened that made me a complete beleiver.

    As the years have worn on though and my brain become more rational and more and more people that I know have passed away, I just cannot beleive in them any more. Never do I hear anything "unexplainable" anymore and the only time I "see things" involves sleep deprevation and/or mind altering substances!

    My mate said that one night he went to the bathroom after just going to bed and when he came out he saw an old woman standing by the stairs!!!! He ..it himself!!!

    He legged it to the bedroom and mentioned it to his wife, who had lived in the house before they got married. She told him that she had seen the woman too, many times!!

    Re: Ghosts?

    I live in one of the oldest recorded villages in the country, chartered in 1212 (Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire), and the house i live in is EXCEPTIONALLY old.

    The site on which the house is built was an Anglo Saxon fortress.
    The first time a house, as we know it, was built there was in 1624 and the house stood until 1809 when a fire ripped through it and burnt it to the ground.
    As second dwelling was bilt in 1810 and it was 3 cottages for farmer worker families. This whole dwelling also burnt to the ground in 1896.
    My house, as it stands now is the building from 1896. In fact, all the beams, the 3 inglenook fireplaces etc are still there (although the burnt beams do smell a charred when the weather is damp).

    I 100% believe in ghosts and have seen and heard things on a regular basis.
