Clearly crime does pay...
:/
sometimes the justice system REALLY pisses me off..
he admits to over 600 acts of theft so he gets a rent free home?
what the actual funk?!
that judge could get tortured for 20 years for all I care, along with whoever else decides this "justice system" that we have to live by..
I'm really beginning to get cheesed off by our whole government. It's an utter disgrace.
what the hell?!?!
RENT FREE HOME for over 650 crimes...
"sorry judge, i may have murdered that family when i was 15, but honestly, i've turned over a new leaf"
"okay sonny jim, here have a house for your mental trauma"
that judge has mental trauma if you ask me!!
seriously, wtf?!
all that grief and trauma caused by this reprobate and he gets relocated? he should be relocated to prison, for a very long time...
and we wonder why crime is rife in this country... its double the reward.. they get to nick our cool ****, then get a free house when theyre caught!!

I have no idea how on earth this judge is allowed to order a new home to be provided for this little toerag! I don't care how hard up he is or how screwed in his head, he deserves some prison time to make ammends to all the people whom he ripped off!

This is bunny and friends. He is fed up waiting for everyone to help him out, and decided to help himself instead!
Daily Mail = half a story. That article makes no mention of the three year community order, the curfew he's under for the next six months, the fact that he's apparently been extremely helpful towards the Police or that he will be being visited twice a week by Police officers for the forseeable future.
The incredibly public nature of the verdict also means that should he reoffend he'll be locked away for quite some time. Lets be fair the lad admitted to 645 extra crimes, not the ones they'd nailed him on but ones he obviously felt he needed to own up to which in my opinion shows that he probably does want to make a change in his life despite his past indiscretions. I don't agree with the verdict myself but with our prisons as over populated as they are if someone owns up to a bunch of petty crimes (admittedly 600+ is more than a bunch but this is an extreme case) why not give them a second chance and enough rope to hang themself? It'd probably cost the taxpayer as much to put him into the prison system at this point as it's costing us to rent his house so why not take the gamble?
good point knoxville, I agree completely.
If anything, I think we are too quick to send people to prison for relitively minor crime and we should be more focused on rehabillitation. Our prison population in percentage terms is the highest in europe IIRC so I think we are clearly doing something wrong.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
wait! what?
I cant believe £1m worth of theft/damage is considered a "minor crime"...
that dude caused £1m worth of theft/damage not to mention the people who he has given taument and trauma...
now if it was maybe 5 cases of burglary and you were like, he's repented and wants to change, then fair enough... but £1m worth and 700 crimes later... i think that qualifies as more than just minor crime...

Code:Boy will be boys and girls will be girls.
He didn't hold a gun to anyones head, never raped, murdered or assaulted anyone and any items/cash stolen will have been covered by insurance. This is I grant you an incredibly extreme case but I agree with G4Z, given the over populated nature of our prisons I think it's high time we started looking at doing things a little differently.
I know the number of crimes he's committed is extremely high but he plead guilty to every one, then asked for 645 more to be taken into account (I bet that saved the police a few bob as well) is it really worth spending £200k keeping that lad locked up for the next five years just because the number of crimes he committed is extremely high? Maybe, maybe not, but it's worth a gamble i my opinion.
When crimes are "taken into account" more often than not many of those crimes were NOT perpetrated by the person charged with them, its a handy way Police clear their books of low end crimes, I am afraid.
guys, its the daily mail. just like any blockbuster movie, read/watch it, enjoy it and move on. don't get too upset by this.

Any thoughts about the 600 plus victims who might still be traumatised by their loss and invasion of their property? What are they given in return?
I do believe in second chances, but are the 'perks' in this instance not OTT?
