I am gearing up for my first build & I need all the help I can get.
I am in the dilemma of which mobo & processor to get.
My main interest is gaming, (would like to get MW2 & Black Ops), a little video encoding for holiday videos, & general pottering about on the internet - no social networking!
I don't really have any financial constraints, but certainly don't want to waste money on a system that could communicate with Jupiter or suchlike. I would like future-proof, but don't want overkill.
Amazon have this AMD bundle available at the moment, & wonder if this is a good deal for my requirements, or should I opt for the more popular Intel (I5 maybe).
AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 8 Core 3.60GHz - Asus M5A78L-M USB3 HDMI Motherboard - 8gb DDR3 RAM Bundle
by AMD
Price: £259.95
This is my thinking at the moment.
Motherboard:MSi Z77 GD65
Intel Core i5 3570K,1155, Ivy Bridge, Quad Core, 3.4GHz (Scan)
8GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance (2x4GB)
1TB WD10EALX SATA 6Gb/s, 32MB Cache
NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti 1GB Amazon=£166.96
I already have an Antec 300 case & propose to use 2 optical drives from an old Medion system.
I wouldn’t be thinking of overclocking or souping up in any way - I wouldn’t know how.
