If you already have a 280X I wouldn't really recommend replacing it with a 760 - unless you have another home for the 280X. The 280X is hands-down the better card, it probably only consumes about 30W more. A 760 will definitely munch more than a 7870 which barely even needs the second 6-pin (as evidenced by the R9 270).
If you're looking at a 250D then you really have nothing to worry about. People run Titans in the SG05, and the ventilation on that is hardly perfect for high end cards.

If you have atleast a couple of intakes, or a couple of exhausts then the air moving through your case should be able to carry out an extra 30-50W with very little effort.

You are obsessing a bit too much over the power consumption of your graphics card and its cooling.

The mini-ITX Steam Boxes demoed by Valve were using that Silverstone 450W PSU I linked to running a Core i7 4770 and a Geforce Titan.

Shuttle systems with a 500W flexATX PSU are running GTX780 cards fine.

The GTX760 is a big downgrade over a R9 280X.

Hmm true, maybe I am looking too much into the numbers and less into the actual reality. If a Silverstone 450W can handle that then I am golden.

Well, everything maxed out my system hits 500 Watts (capital W at the wall), but that is with a 1090T.


My 3770 + 7870 munched on 235W at the wall. So I take it it should be more like near 300W?

Just remember if you overclock you do increase the load, even if you don't increase the volts you still pull more amps which is why a good VRM is important

Tiny gamer changer.

I7-4770 or £-5 for the 4770S. The 4770K is £20 more however (nahh).

Their shipping is £2.50 and I have used them before 12 months warranty with everything.

In a 250D with an AIO, you have plenty enough cooling for a 84W chip, so unless you particularly desire the lower TDP you may as well get the full chip IMHO.

Last thing to order is that 250D although waiting as Amazon had a great deal on it not long ago (save some £££).

Just a peek at the fans - I have tried them out and I can gather 2 things. I tested it out by placing the fans onto the H75 radiator and giving myself an idea of how much air is coming through. I did this with the AF120mm too (54CFM @ 2.8 mmH20)

1) They definitely have good static pressure considering they only push 33 CFM.
2) Stupidly quiet, 1000RPM. They could easily be ran straight from the PSU.

I'll be testing these things out when the H75 is installed by using the stock AF120 Corsair fan and then these fans. So take the specs with a grain of salt.

They do look wonderful though, I will show them spinning soon enough
