Did he? Must have missed it, cause I can't recall mentioning crossfire. But yes, single card > crossfire/SLI.
Yes, I did originally ask about crossfire , but I've decided not to go for it.

And don't worry, I'm not skipping breakfasts, I just want to be able to stick with my original budget. Heck, I might even be able to up my budget to £800, but I'll have to check first.

I think budgets have to be capped at some point otherwise you find yourself in a cycle where you keep saying, 'it's only another £20' until before you know it you have moved from a £700 budget to a £1000.

That's a great decision, although for just another £20 you could gain another 50 points on 3dMark. lol

Now that you've decided that you can fine tune and tweak your selections until you are completely satisfied with what you're about to order before taking the final plunge and submitting your order.

Alright, I made a PCPartPicker build for it. I've only included the main necessities, as when I can, I'll be upgrading a bit and adding fans.

It's almost £850, but I'll be buying everything off Amazon, so I should be able to save £10+ more. I'll also be using TopCashBack, which does 8.4% cashback, which should make my total at most £770. I'll just borrow the extra £20- from my friends and pay them back on a later date

You misunderstood me, I was saying a single 290X is 50% better than a single 280. I completely agree that in most cases 1 faster card is better than 2 slower cards with crossfire or SLI.

Looks good, you could save maybe £30-40 on the motherboard and case but if you're happy with both then stick with them. You'll also likely need 2 sata cables (shouldn't cost more than £2 each).

Oh, I see, yeah, that makes sense I would agree with that completely.

So then, are these the specs to be?

Also, I've decided to swap my XFX with a Sapphire since I saw a comparison of the 2, and the Sapphire was MUCH better.

I'll also get a burner since the Sapphire drivers come on a CD.

Can't go wrong with Sapphire IMO.

I don't think that these days anybody should rely on drivers from bundled CDs/DVDs. If you are unsure, install SlimDrivers.

If I do end up going with this card (and I think I will), then I'll look into it .

Aside from that though, would you say the build is done?

Looks good to me,especially the GPU of lot more performance.

Shame about the box cooler but without OC you should be fine.

    Good luck with the build.

One more thing: if I may suggest, order a pack of cable ties from one of the sites. Are cheap and you can have an amazingly tidy case with them = less restrictions = better air circulation = better cooling = lesser chance of overheat with the box cooler on CPU and better OC on GPU.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I prchase my parts, thanks . I doubt I'll be doing any overclocking, but I will definitely save up for an after market or water CPU cooler. I also plan on getting as many fans as the case can capacitate.

That goes for everyone else who helped out and gave me advice on what to put in my build. Thanks a ton!

P.S the CPU is good enough not to bottleneck, right?

Also, a lot of you have been saying the stock coolers from Intel are too noisy/slow, so I was thining about getting a CM Hyper 212 Evo, and wanted your opinions of it .

Got yo disagree with that. If your case is well vented (2 x FANs) and tidy (cable tied) the Intel BOX cooler is quiet and cools well unless under long term load.

But the Hyper 212 EVO is a pretty good budget cooler.
