Obviously you're missing a graphics card, I guess you're looking at an RX 480?

I'd just buy whatever storage is on offer at the time. I'd go for a minumum of a 240GB SSD, any less isn't worth the money.

    Re: HTPC/Gaming build (1080p)

You ask for suggestions for SSD and HDD. You need to decide on the priority to determine what is the best SSD size to go for. You could get a cheap 128GB SDD for just windows and a large mechanical drive for everything else, which is what I did to begin with.

Hoever given that SSD's are much cheaper now you might want to consider going for a 256GB or even a 480GB drive if you can get a good deal to install windows/programs/games and the mechanical drive for storage for HTPC usage. Unless you are really into benchmarks for the drive then I would agree with the poster above, just get any decent drive that is available on offer when you are buying. The mainstream ones are 'much of a muchness'. I guess it comes down to how much you want to spend as always

Other than that, it's very similar to my setup and I game at 2560x1440 (only because I got a cheap monitor a while back in a good deal) and I find that I can play most things at that resolution with slightly lowered settings. At 1080p obviously the load on the CPU/GPU is considerably lower therefore allowing high er settings.

Only thing I might say though is are you sure that the i3 is enough for your needs over the next however long you want this build to last for?

The bits you're buying are somewhat lower end than the bits you've got, but the balance between the new bits is perfectly reasonable.

    What the motherboard and cpu?

This isn't my main pc, just for mainly movies and a bit of 1080p gaming in the living room.

    What do you suggest then?

I would invest in a slightly better CPU. A dual core is pretty weak, especially for games like Overwatch/WoT/CS which take a lot out of a processor.
