Quadro 4000 Dual Monitor Problems
I have been running my 3XS system for a good few weeks without problems on 3D work. I specified the new Nvidia Quadro 4000 card.
I have added a second DELL 2209wa monitor for a dual monitor system.
One monitor is attached to the Quadros DVI port to the priniciple DELL 2209WA DVI port the new one is attached via the Nvidia Displayport to DVI adapter then tyo the 2209WA's DVI port.
The second monitor work fine for 30 minutes and then went into powersave mode.
To try and resolve the issue I have:
Swopped over the monitors, they both work on the Quadros DVI port.
Reinstalling the Quadro drivers, installing the new Quadro drivers.
All to no avail.
On reading post on the internet it seems the next port of call is the Nvidia adapter that came with the card as there are reports of these failing.
I have posted a support query.
This card is professional product and at £900 plus. It should be capable of running dual monitors for professional work.
Any ideas.

Still no response regarding this problem. My new monitor is rather expensive paperweight at the moment. Not good.
I see there have been many issues with the displayport adapters from reading threads on other sites, not Scans fault but if it is faulty then a swap for a new displayport to DVI adapter would seem the best course of action in the first instance. I don't have a displayport to VGA so maybe sending one of those would also be prudent to try every eventuality.

Could you supply me with your OLQ or invoice number please. We have a support query open regarding a quadro card, but I'm unsure if it is yours at his point.

Hi,
I've checked with Sanjay and it is indeed the same one. He's checking for stock currently and I believe he's dropped you a mail via the olq asking you to confirm the driver revision so we can replicate the issue or find a working solution for you.

Can someone update me as to what is happening with this issue.
I can understand you have to investigate but it is now the 3rd working day. I use the term 'working as I use this for my job not gaming.
Seriously concerned about lack of information now.

3 more emails to scan requesting an update NO RESPONSE.
Posts on this, their support forum - NO RESPONSE.
What the hell is going on. This system is for professional use what's happening to the much touted customer care.
Appalled so far.

You have to realise that the lack of information is what gets peoples backs up when in all reality at your end you are doing all you can to sort the problems.

When you say 3 days and no contact with all due respect this is not correct
We first became aware of the issue after you emailed us on the 2nd November in the afternoon
sanjay replied to this query the following day at 9:23am asking for some more information in order to test here
Sanjay emailed on the 3rd asking for yet more information
Sanyay emailed again on the 4th advising that we have got the card now and are going to test on our test bench which is where the card is being tested at the moment
As soon as we have any more information Sanjay will be in contact as he is running all the tests

With all due respect I logged the problem at around 6.33AM on 3rd November via the online support at the same time as opening this thread. I did not email you on the 2nd as you state.
I got an email at 9.23am on 3rd asking 3 questions to which I replied at 9.51am. giving details of the circumstances.
The next message from Sanjay was at 11.49am on 4th stating that he was checking that the Quadro 4000 was in stock and to enquire what drivers I was using. I replied straight away. I then sent another immediately giving him the revision number of the Dell monitor in case this may be an issue.
I have received no further emails and have not received one stating that you have the card and are testing.
I have been as proactive as I can. As for 3 days like I stated 'working days', 6.33 am on 3rd to now is 3 working days. 2 emails giving no information is, in my book, poor for a professional system used for work.

Received a replacement Displayport to DVI dongle/adapter this morning.
So far no problems and system stable.
Old adapter supplied with the Nvidia Quadro 4000 just does not work and reading up on the web it seems this Nvidia badged bizlink manufactured adapter is causing the problem.
The replacement sent by Scan is a Hosiden DP to DVI adapter and appears to have sorted the problem.
I have sent all my investifations into this to Sanjay at Scan in case this crops up for anyone else.
