    Bundle issue

    Hello there.

    I purchased a 3XS overclocked bundle.

The origional was 3.3ghz and over clocked to 4.5ghz, I have today installed software which automatically detects and corrects driver updates.

After this, on CPUZ it is showing 3.3Ghz now and not the 4.5ghZ, I have changed the profile in the BIOS to make sure but it is the same.

    Any ideas?

    Kind regards
    Mr Adam Reed

    Hi,

Please confirm you are using the latest version of CPU-Z? Also please ensure the system is under load, we recommend running the stability test on AIDA64 to do this (the CPU may be Speedstepping down).

Other than this I would also check the Windows Power Options in the Control Panel (High Performance is recommended).

    Thanks,

    Hi there

I will check CPUZ, could you confirm what you mean by ''ensure system is under load, using stability test on AIDA64''?

    Thanks

    Re: Bundle issue

The way these work nowadays is the CPU will only run at the high speed when the CPU load is at 100%

To get the real speed figure showing in CPU-Z you need to do the stability test on AIDA64, or use the intel burn tool to put the CPU under heavy load. Once one of these applications is running, if you load CPU-Z, this will then show the higher speed.

Sat in windows the PC is not doing anything so the speed will drop down.

For example, when my system was running with speedstep enabled, at windows desktop, CPU-Z reports 1.6 GHz for the 2500K and then it used to boost up to 4.8 GHz when under load.

    Best Regards,
