Removing Scansure without cancelling whole order?

Is it possible to do?

I'm not impressed that I have to return the whole order to cancel something that was opt-out (and should be opt-in IMO)

It means having to wait a number of days for the return to get processed, missing the intended delivery slot waiting for the refund and missing out on the today only deal.

Seems a bit cheap to have an opt-out policy that has to be opted out every order (unless there is a way to permanently disable it, which I would like to be able to do as I already have this cover on my credit card for free), and because it's a short term policy there are no rights to cancel under the DSR. And to cancel it requires the return of the entire order

And there are still reasons why you might want an extended warranty - they often include loan machines and ongoing technical support that you would otherwise miss out on. But they are not always good value, says Dr Twigg-Flesner.

You what?

Chris - Is this going to be an easy thing to do with any future orders that it gets put on but the purchaser didn't want it? Would save you paying return P&P, doing the refund, possibly losing a sale every time someone wanted to do it?

If the purchaser does not want Scansure they should remove it during the ordering process.

Ideally it should be opt out. Silence is not acceptance, it is a bit dirty imo, to add extra things on to the order without asking.

Why not in the pop-up that says item has been added to basket, cannot it not come up offering it there? Or even a pop-up when you click checkout, etc.

Its clear you are relying on people not noticing to make a bit more money. I don't blame the business decision behind it, I just don't think its very moral personally. :(

I would past in the images and large adverts advertising Scansure and how clear it is to opt out, if we hadn't done so already. I'm not sure what you mean by silence, there is plenty of " noise " about Scansure, just use the search.

The op's issues has been resolved and Scansure has been discussed to exhaustion already.
