    DPD Couriers

I must say, while I love shopping with Scan and trust the company, the DPD couriers used to dispatch the parcels have a really awful way of dealing with customers.

Ordered an RM1000i power supply on the 7th of March and paid over £11 for next day delivery to my workplace, as it's the only way I can collect parcels during normal working hours.

Courier arrived, took a picture of a closed garage gate without even bothering to check the reception and left without leaving a calling card, despite the fact that I left additional delivery instructions with my phone number so they could contact me if they struggled to find the right company.

That's not even all. I rearranged delivery online for the 8th, their tracking shown the parcel as "Being prepared for delivery" the whole day. Around 4pm I called DPD customer service, but after 20 minutes on the phone they claimed they can't reach my local depot as they aren't picking up the phone, so they can't help me and I should just be patient.

Finally I managed to fish out a phone number of the local depot online, called them after trying for nearly an hour, and was told that they're loading a van and parcel should be with me shortly. That, of course wasn't the case. About 6:30pm I received a tracking text message, saying that a driver would deliver between, wait for it, 20:07 and 21:07. I tried to call the depot but there was no one there to take a call.

I won't even go on about how rude the operators in both the call centre and the depot were. Nobody seems to care at all, and I can see where the 1 out of 5 stars google reviews come from. DPD is a circus, not a serious company.

Is this some kind of joke on their behalf? I need the PSU in a haste, so I decided to stay at work a bit longer and wait for the courier. DPD tracking even shown a map so I could see where the courier is. About 30 minutes into his run, the van stopped and never moved again.

Precisely at 21:14, 7 minutes after the delivery window, I received a text: "We could not deliver your parcel today as no one was in." And a link to rearrange delivery.

Not only these arrogant idiots kept me at work for 3 and a half hours longer than normally, in the end they never shown up.

Maybe something for Scan to think about. I don't mind to pay extra to get my things next day, as long as it actually happens.

    End of rant.

    Re: DPD Couriers

And to carry on, I called DPD this morning, only to be told they don't know what happened, and I better go too their depot myself and collect the parcel as they can't say when they'll be able to dispatch it. Absolute disgrace.

I did just that, as they're thankfully not far from me, only to have some rude bloke refuse to hand over the parcel without a proof of address.

Clearly my name on my EU driving licence is not enough to prove I'm entitled to collect my own parcels. Asked to speak to the manager, but been told they're too busy to deal with me and I should leave and bring back a proof of address. Meanwhile their tracker shows my parcel being delivered -again- while I've seen it laying on the shelf behind the counter at their depot.

Disgusting. Now I have to take time off work to run after my parcel back and forth.

    Re: DPD Couriers

Never had anything less than stellar service from DPD, myself. Reading deliveries have always been bang on, at all three places I have stuff sent.
Text says 11:03-12:03, my driver Ralph will be there bang on 11:02, ready and waiting. Text comes in the night before, usually, too and an update the next morning.
I've called up several times to say I won't be there and to arrange safe locations. Every time the call centre has been delightful and an absolute pleasure.

Maybe you need to move house?

Maybe. Southall is not the best place in the world to live, but then my business is there, so for the time being, somewhat stuck!

Still, they aren't brilliant. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.dpd.co.uk says something. Might just pay extra for DHL next time.

Problem is, people are quick to complain and rarely offer any praise

I've never had any problems with DPD in my area. As Ttaskmaster said, I receive a text usually the night before and the driver arrives well within the slow given.

    Re: DPD Couriers

I deal with essentially every courier you can think of, on a daily basis. DPD are far from the worst from my experience. Actually quite the opposite actually

    My Hermes and Yodel however....

    Re: DPD Couriers

I tend to think it's the drivers rather than the company, as others have said I have never had a problem with them, text received with delivery time slot and always on time.

I hhelped out a friend one day with yxdxl and never again over 12 hours and well over 100 parcels

Is yxdxl a Scottish courier company?

    Helmheid ,

I am sorry for the delay in replying to your post, I have had problems with accessing the forum.

Can you PM me your invoice number ? And I will ask our customer services team to investigate.

    Kind regards,

I suppose I kind of agree. Customer service for Yodel and Myhermes is also pretty bad too though.

I've seen parcels that have been lost for weeks and weeks just randomly turn up out of the blue. Normally battered to death mind you
