    Antec P180B & P182 Mix-up

    Hi,

    I ordered an Antec P182 case from you guys and received Antec P180B (this is stated on the box).

    There is a scan sticker on the box that states Link: 18867 Antec P182

    SCIL: 819958518.

    Antec part number: 0761345-09181-7 (on the box)

    Should be:

    Antec Part Number: 0761345-09182-4

    Please advise?

    Thanks

    not to worry mate. had the same problem a week ago. turns out they are using the P180B boxs for the P182 which is kinda a shame, but you can live with it. just look around on the box for the scan sticker and it should say P182. i just opened mine up and saw the 2 water cooling holes at the back...

    Have some of that

    As mooney316 says, just make sure you check there are 2 watercooling tube holes in the back which should have rubber over them with "flanges" on to securely hold the tubes in place depending on size, if these are there, its a P182

    My P180b came with the water cooling holes and the fan controller on the back.
    The difference between them is that the P180b is black and the P182 is gun metal grey

    I ordered a P182 a couple of weeks ago and it came in a p180B box, but it was a P182.

    I can't find anywhere that shows a P180B version that has the water cooling holes, or the cable routing behind the motherboard.

    P180B and P182 (from antecs uk site)

    Click the image and check the picture from the back of the case for the most obvious difference as mentioned by mooney

    edit: ok now im a bit confused, the P180B images dont show the ruibber gromets, but the spec description does mention them : 'Rubber grommeted ports on the rear for liquid-cooling tubes allow you to mount external liquid-cooling hardware'. Was the P180B design updated to match the P182 at some point?

    I assume they changed to the improved chassis when the P182 was released so that they didn't have to have two manufacturing lines, just the different panels.
    The picture on the Antec site is just an old one that they haven't bothered to update. I bought my P180b a few weeks ago (not from scan) and it was the updated version.

    Although I'm perfectly happy with the case I got, does that mean they really should be listed on the site as P180B since that's exactly what they are, and not P182s?

    I am guessing it is the P182 as it has the holes in the back which people have previously mentioned - whereas the older version does not.

    Re: Antec P180B & P182 Mix-up

    P180 = Silver
    P180b = Black
    P182 = Gun metal grey

    The price difference across the three models at scan is £1.41
    So unless you have an aversion to the colour you have been sent its not really worth the hassle of sending it back and waiting for a replacement.

    Yeah, the P180b is the same spec as the P182 apart from in colour as far as I know. Is the case you have black or a sort of grey colour?

    <edit>
    Had a look round and they aint the same, see post below.

    P182 is black, you can tell the difference aswell by the 2 hole for watercooling at the back

    Re: Antec P180B & P182 Mix-up

    The 182 isn't black, its gunmetal grey, to add to the confussion Antec shipped the early ones with P180b manuals and its possible a similar error was made with packaging.

    If its an odd grey colour and has watercooling ports in the back you have the P182.

    If its proper black with no watercooling ports then its the P180b.
