iX38 Quad GT - Axed or not?

    Hi Scan.
I am looking to order the iX38 Quad GT but have been informed by a friend that these are going to be taken out of circulation due to dodgy memory controllers.

    Is this true?

The memory controller is part of the Intel chipset in which case surely all X38 mobos would be withdrawn ...
Is he perhaps getting confused by the cancellation of the IX38 MAX & subsequent replacement by IX48 MAX?

The memory controller is the least of your worries with that board.
