"the date" for these chips was set to be the 20th Jan however thats a Sunday so i'd expect it to be on the 21st

THe 45nm quads are also up look a little steep at teh mo tbh, I also like the way someone has mixed up 45nm and 65nm.

Yes. I can say without a doubt that the ETA is the 21st. I managed to grab my E8400 from somewhere else and got it yesterday but they're due for realease into the wild on the 21st as long as the retailer has stock. Not sure if you'd get it on the 21st if you ordered now or on the 22nd. Perhaps someone from Scan is in a better place to comment on that.

Well since no overclocking results have been posted for the retail quads I don't think anybody can say with any certainty what the best combination is going to be.
