    Re: Xigmatek bolt-through kits?

£4 isn't too bad, but then there's postage too...

However, I don't want something that 'might' work or needs bodging to fit my S1283.

Can anyone confirm if this kit will fit? Someone from Scan?

    Re: Xigmatek bolt-through kits?

That's an excellent thread. Thank you very much.

I contacted Xigmatek about their bolt-through kit and got this reply:

    Hi, Sponge

How are you? About your question, there is bolt-through kit for HDT-S1283, and please check this link: <unable to post links>

And this kit will be delivered to XIGMATEK UK distributor (SCAN computers) in next week, and will probably arrive in Uk in the early June.

    Thank you very much!

    Re: Xigmatek bolt-through kits?

Do Xigmatek have any low profile heatsinks? For HTPC use?

Edit: Apologies, folks, searched, answer is yes! These seem as they won't fit into my case very well, or will with a very little leverage. Shame, with all the reviews these coolers have been receiving. Liked the look of these.

Edit2: Haha, found one, the Air Apache: XIGMATEK
Wonder how the new Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 LP (Low Profile) heatsink will compare to this?

I see that you have recieved stock of the Xigmatek Crossbow ACK-I7751 LN23136, but why are they not listed in Coolers for CPU - Intel like the other Intel bolt-thru-kits? Being a bit picky I know .

    Re: Xigmatek bolt-through kits?

I just thought I'd add that I got the new mounting kit and fitted it last week. It was a bit of a faff pulling the motherboard out of it's case, but there was no way around it.

I'm a lot happier with the way the cooler is mounted now. It's considerably more secure and I feel the contact between cooler and CPU is better too. In fact, it's worth mentioning that despite taking time to mount the cooler properly with the previous, push-pin method, as soon as I removed the motherboard from the case two of the pins popped out without even touching them!

I used a slightly different method of applying the TIM this time around (sourced from the links above, thanks) and combined with the better mounting system my temperatures have dropped by several degrees. So I'm well chuffed. If only Xigmatek had sold the cooler with the bolt-through kit in the first place.
