    Thank you - Q9550 + surprise

Thanks Scan folks - just got my Core 2 Q9550 and found that it came with a free Steam license for Empire: Total War. Totally unexpected, and it helps make up for my disappointment at not getting the Mirror's Edge voucher I'd expected with the GTX260 a few months ago (yes, I know, not your fault). It's these little things that keep me coming back.

[edit] DOH! Really, it's the little things that annoy too It's a C1 stepping not an E0 - after all this time I really expected this to be the new stepping by now!

    That's odd - I got a Q9550 from Scan last month which is E0....

    Re: Thank you - Q9550 + surprise

Mine that came last week was a C1 as well. I suspect this may have something to do with why the price crashed by about £30. Got a batch of cheap C1 stock, rather than E0. I had been expecting an E0 like yourself.

As for Empire, they've had a banner on the front page about it for a couple of weeks!

    Re: Thank you - Q9550 + surprise

    I was thinking of getting a Q9550 from Scan but if it's C1 I may re-consider...
Could any Scan employees confirm whether the ones in stock now are C1 or E0?
Does this apply to the motherboard + CPU bundles too?
Does the Empire: TW come with the bundles or just when buying the processor separately?

    Thanks

    (Edit: Whoops- I meant E0 not G0 )
