Tempted to get a AM2+ Quad Core system but I'm unsure if the CPU is supported right out of box. Does SCAN offer to update the BIOS prior to shipping out?

Seems a bit steep consider the boards are quite cheap :S
Wondering if there any of the cheaper Asus AM2+ board on Today Only offer which have X4 620 support out of box?

Guess you're paying for the guarantee that the bios is working when you boot it for the first time after as there is a slim chance of bricking your board. I managed to wangle a new (updated) board from Gigabyte after they didn't support AM3 on a board series they had claimed they would support via a news update. Had to pay to sed it to them but under a tenner for extra sata and proper AM3 support isn't bad.
AMDs normally boot and run enough to get the BIOS flashed, or if you know anyone with dual core or under you could borrow their cpu just in case?
@Joel
Sounds good support from GA there.
From my experiences even when a processor is not officially supported by the BIOS on the board it still boots and lets you go into BIOS, so you can just flash to the new BIOS via USB stick. You just get a warning the processors in unidentified / not known.
