Warranty Check please - intend to order today

I was just about to order one of these http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-s...cache-85ms-ncq when I noticed that the description on the page states that it is OEM but with a 36 month warranty.
I thought Seagate OEM were 12 months.
Can you please confirm as if it is 12 months I will order a Caviar Green instead

I will assume that the 3 year warranty is valid and that, if Seagate won't honour it, Scan will so I will be placing the order tomorrow afternoon and will advise the actual warranty from Seagate found by putting the serial number in http://support.seagate.com/customer/...ion.jsp?form=0

There used to be a similar discrepancy with Samsung drives (bought out by Seagate), and Scan honoured the warranties. Not that it means it'll be fine this time, but it's promising, at the very least.

Very quick reply from Scan - the nominal warranty is only 12 months so I will be returning it and ordering a WD drive instead

Edit - all seems to be sorted WD drive should arrive Monday and hopefully the Seagate will be picked up at the same time

    To finalise
New drive arrived today and RMA collected - all very efficient and it is now installed
Note to self - next time I order a hard drive add a couple of SATA cables (non left) and some screws (despite having a bag full of various sizes and thread pitches I seem to be running short of ones which fit disk drives)
