    SSD Query / Comparison

Does anyone have any experiences to share to make a comparison/choice between these 3 ssd please?

From yesteryear and hearsay samsung good, sandforce bad... but now these are newer models so just looking for something with reliability foremost and reasonably fast.

    Other recommendations welcome too, thanks!

    Re: SSD Query / Comparison

Samsung Pro best on speed and durability
    Samsung Evo ok
Crucial M500 good, in some ways better than EVO, certainly on durability
Kingston only if you must compared to the other 2

Both the crucial and 840 EVO will be good. Go for whichever is cheaper. I wouldn't go for the kingston due to reliability.

    Re: SSD Query / Comparison

I'd definately recommend the Samsung especially if your planning to enable the RAPID mode it supports for even greater transfer speeds.

I've got a few of the 250 GB 840 drives myself and planning to add more to the system in the near future

Apart from Intel have had issues with the 530 since launch. You only need to visit the official Intel SSD forum to see people having BSOD issues, disconnections, and freezing issues, even now.

Intel have not been a reliable producer of consumer hardware for some time now. There have been multiple recalls in consumer equipment (chipsets, SSD) and issues as serious as dataloss on their SSDs (I'm not even talking about the 530, even the 320 has the 8MB 'bug' which killed data), along with simply releasing products that don't work as intended (right from USB all the way to Sandy Bridge-E with it's VT-d extension broken).

Their data-center range of hardware seems to be solid (We have some at work), but you'd exact that give its role and cost.

If you want reliability, go with the Crucial or Samsung.
