Pre orders for Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 GAMING ( LN59866)

Hi, I'm wondering if it is worth pre-ordering this or not, I'll explain:

I had a pre-order up with another supplier (beginning with e) and now they are telling me that they over estimated the supply and wont honour it. I can see it says 'hot seller' on the Scan page. If I put in a pre-order does that mean I will actually get a card when they come in, will the website reject my pre-order if more people pre-order than the amount you have coming in or will it just accept it and then possibly at some later point I'll be disappointed again?

Wish I'd ordered from Scan in the first place Ive had my eye on this since the day of release and now I'm at the back of the queue

From what I have heard the 970s from basically all manufacterers are backordered to insane amount everywhere. One site was reporting a backorder of 300 units on the MSI 970, thats insane.

Personally I would recommend just pre-ordering and accepting the queue if you really want it.

I did put in the pre-order with Scan in the end. It's not Scans fault at all, but I could have pre-ordered on the release day with Scan and been at the head of the queue. Instead I pre-ordered with another supplier that just kicked me off their waiting list with no explanation. I'm just hoping that Scan wont do the same. I don't need the card until the end of November, I wonder if that date is even realistic considering the shortages and that I'm far down the queue now

Had one of these on release day, cracking card felt well built, boosted to over 1400mhz at stock, sadly the LEDs were dead on it so had to send it back.

Re: Pre orders for Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 GAMING ( LN59866)

I received an email yesterday that it has been shipped and should arrive today. It's still showing as pre-order only on the website, I must have got lucky and been far enough up the queue to get one. Thank you Scan.

I will definitely use Scan for any future pre-orders they handled it very well and gave regular updates when the shipping dates kept slipping. Much better than the online retailer beginning with e, that basically told me to sod off and cancelled my pre-order when they had problems getting stock.

Scan seem to have quite a few 970s in stock unsure whether to order from them or keep my ebuyer order as scan have sent me a second graphics card sold as new in the past

Are exxxx keeping you up to date with the state of your pre-order? They didn't have any communication with me up to the point they told me they were cancelling it because they had taken too many. Scan give regular updates on the ETA of the pre-order and let you know when the date slips. The card I got from Scan is just sealed with tape instead of one of those security stickers but from the videos on youtube this seems to be normal for this model for some reason. It doesn't appear to be used to me, but I would think you would only send it back if it was bust? If they were test samples I would think it would be easy to spot they were used?

Re: Pre orders for Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 GAMING ( LN59866)

I just went and got a pair of the non G1s that were in stock yesterday, which was £50 less than getting the G1s. The website said low stock so I asked how many they had and they said 13 left, and they already sold out.

And more amazingly, DPD do sunday delivery now! They're here soon OMG.
