V12 - opted for 9 month period, but they say payment is due after 1 month??

    Hi

I purchased an Acer XB270HU monitor on May 7th, and I opted to use V12 Finance, 9 month interest free.

I just called V12 to make a partial payment towards my monitor and I happened to ask when the interest free period ends, expecting sometime in January. The person said it ends on June 12th 2015, and that it isn't a buy now pay later option - which is what was advertised on Scan. I advised that shouldn't be the case, her only response was to contact Scan.

Can someone from Scan confirm why this has happened please? I certainly wouldn't have chosen a 1 month interest free option - particularly as there was a £20 arrangement fee!

    Regards
    Dan

In regards to your query, I can see that the finance on the V12 systems is setup as BNPL9/39 so this means it is on the buy now, pay later 9 months option which reverts over to a classic credit of 39 months if not settled by the end of the 9 months period.

V12 don't really like doing partial payments. They prefer it if you pay it all off in 1 lump sum, anytime within the 9 months period in full.

It may be that the human on the phone at the other end made an error - these things can happen

    Best Regards,

    Hi Lee,

Thanks for the response. I called V12 again, and it transpires that the first person I spoke to loaded up the wrong account. It's a good thing I called them again as I would have made a £100 payment towards somebody else's balance!

    Cheers
