Unhappy MSI mobo no power...what are my options?

Hi all, I would appreciate some advise please.

I've been saving up to finally upgrade my aging i7 920/Asus Rampage 2 setup.
I went for the MSI/i7 6700k/Corsair ram/H100i cooler bundle which I think is great value. I've even paid for Sat delivery as I'm so excited.
Everything went smoothly until I plugged the power in, there's nothing coming on. No LEDs and can't boot up. Looks to me like the board's dead. I've checked the PSU against old board and that light up fine.
I've now started the Returns query process, not sure how long that will take though?
Also, when removing all the components including the CPU I noticed that some of the pins on the mobo are bent. I can't tell for sure if there were bent before putting CPU in as everything went smoothly and I didn't take any pictures...
I'm pretty sure I couldn't have bent them as I was extra careful putting the CPU in.
What are the most likely outcome here? I'm currently thinking on buying another ASUS mobo as I want to complete the build as soon as I can without waiting for RMA process to complete. Is it possible just to refund the cost of the MSI mobo or perhaps I pay the difference towards the ASUS?

The most likely outcome is that the rma will be rejected due to the bent pins unless you took out the insurance against damage during installation

    Hi,

Can you please provide your invoice number? also is it possible you can upload a picture of the CPU socket so that we can view the extent of the damage?

    Regards

Well what about chances that the board arrived with pins bent as from research is common with MSI boards? Just feel a bit disheartened automatic blame is put on the customer...
Also isn't there a cheap option to repair the CPU sockets? circa £25 plus VAT iirc.

    Hi Mark, thanks for reply.

Invoice number is 00E2793312. My best attempt at picture of pins (around 7-8 pins bent):

    Hi again Mark,

I've got reply from Danny Blinkhorn who raised the RMA.
I cant open a form he sent so awaiting reply.
He hasn't asked for pictures though.
From the picture I've attached can you please advise recommended action?

Also to repair socket do I need send everything back as new (in packing etc)?

    Thanks.

Ouch. You've not got another board to test that CPU have you? Fingers crossed that those bent pins just kept to themselves and didn't so any lasting damage to the CPU itself
