new 3XS system build advice... Hi, Im configuring a 3XS system to purchase this week, just want to make sure the parts I order are compatible. I’m basing it around the AMD 7800 SLi PC, but I want it to have media centre capabilities too. Under the customise section you have a Hauppauge WinTv Nova Freeview receiver (Scan code LN3073), however this card doesn’t say it MCE 2005 compatible. Although not available as an option to configure in the 3Xs system you also stock another WinTV Nova card (stock code LN10235) that’s says it is MCE 2005 compatible. I know that you can have 2 Nova T cards in a system to run as a dual tuner, can you advise what I can do as id like to have 2 winnova T cards in my AMD rig, but am unable to customise this online. Also do these cards have an RF out to loop through to the other card? Thanks. Maks.

The normal Nova-T PCI cards are fine with MCE2005 (I can vouch for this, I have 2 of the standard Nova-T cards). These cards do have the 2 connections on the back but I just split the antenna cable with a 'Y' adaptor and then feed both the tuner cards. Last edited by Lee @ SCAN; 06-03-2006 at 10:18 AM..

Thanks for the prompt response Lee, are you able to advise on the rough turnaround time of new PC from when I order to when ID receive it? Also if i did order the 2 Nova T cards, would they be configured to use as dual tuners during the installation of the system so when i get it home all i do is connect an aerial and of i go, or would i have to install the drivers, patches and any new firmware etc.

Everything would be setup on the system, but due to how MCE detects the nearest "transmitter" you would need to rescan within MCE to get the nearest transmitter. This is fairly straightforwards and would take no longer than 10 minutes to do ![]() As for systembuild times - the time frame at the moment is about 7-10 days from ordering to dispatch. Best Regards,
