New system build, need some advise to complete order.

    Hi,

I've just ordered the bulk of a new system I'm building from Scan, and am trying to decide on a good and quite PSU and an alternative to the stock Intel cooler for the CPU as I have another order to place shortly for some other bits.

I think I have it narrowed down to two PSU's, however am open to suggestions.

The two PSU's I have picked out are:

    1. 600w Seasonic S12-600 SLi Ready Silent PSU (LN11603)
    2. 650w Akasa POWER+ iQ

The Akasa I have been told it due in a week or so when I emailed Scan earlier in the week, it's not yet up on the Scan site so no quick code available.

For the CPU cooler I was looking at the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, I do not plan to over clock the system however I do know the Intel stock coolers ain't great or quiet!!

    New System Spec
    ============
CPU: Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 965
    MOBO: Intel D975XBXLKR
GFX: XFX GeForce 7900GTX XXX Edition
    RAM: Corsair Memory TWIN2X2048-8500C5 2x1GB

The Seasonic PSU is great , I would chose that over the AKASA every time.

The Artic Cooler you mentioned is also great, both choices are........great .

    Hi Noni,

Thanks for the feedback, I am swaying in favor of the Seasonic over the Akasa for the PSU.

I looked as so many coolers last night and think I have finally settled on the Arctic Cooler, it did get very good write ups in the reviews I managed to find.

    Hi Lee,

Thanks for checking, it sounds like it's going to be the 2nd revisions you have but would like to know all the same when you find out.

    Hi Seasonic,

Thanks for the info, I would have liked the 3rd revision which from what I have seen on a US retailers site has quite a few tweaks including the sleeved cables. It's just a shame I need the PSU in the next week or so. I'll probably have to make do with the current ones Scan have in stock as it's the Seasonic I am leaning towards.

Mind I am wanting to build the system in the new Akasa Mirage-62 case so putting the thing together is all dependant on that becoming avaialble soon.
