eBay Fail Hi guys, I recently sold something on eBay and posted it to the guy via 2nd class post. This was just over two weeks ago and he apparently hasn't received it and is asking for a refund. He's just opened up a dispute on PayPal about it. Is he entitled to a refund? I did actually post the item and am not scamming him. It was an auction if it helps. Thanks!

Re: eBay Fail Given the crapness of the royal mail for the past month, (I've had no end of 2nd class parcels take forever, or are still missing) I'd tell him you'll refund if he still hasn't received by say the end of the week. Paypal will give him his money if he asks, anyway.... unless you had proof of delivery (recorded/special delivery)

| I R Toff Pandi! | Re: eBay Fail In the future always get proof of postage, there's too many arses in the world ![]() Was the thing you sold expensive? As i think you're going to have to clock this one up to experience (obviously, still try and resolve it via paypal in your favour) but be prepared for them to swing the other guys way ![]() Ask the guy to be a little patient due to RM strikes |

Re: eBay Fail Royal mail will want you to wait 30 days before you can do any claim, best let paypal progress the refund and in future get send by 2nd class recorded.

Re: eBay Fail Sold my CPU while ago on fleebay, posted 1st class without tracking details... -£80 Lesson learnt. ALWAYS post recorded/sign for otherwise you don't have a leg to stand on... PP will prove you wrong and refund the buyer... Sad days... eBay won't let you leave negative feedback to the buyer as well. No win-win here I'm afraid.

Re: eBay Fail Repeat, always get proof of posting..... Royal Mail are OK giving compensation but you have to wait for about 4 weeks before making a claim and it's hard to keep a buyer happy in that time.... I recently had a dispute with the buyer of one of my RAM chips and ebay upheld my end...so they're not to bad in a dispute...

Re: eBay Fail Unless you item is worthwhile then you're wasting 75p each time you post (unless the buyer is paying!) Recorded delivery is a half way house that's good for reassurance but offers no more cover than standard 1st or 2nd class compensation with a free proof os posting (100 times the value of a standard 1st/2nd class stamp) I'm not even too sure that you need to get a signature on recorded anymore at busy times
