    QuietPC - HEXUS Deals - April 29th 2005

QuietPC and HEXUS have teamed up in order to deliver some exclusive deals on the following gear for you - the HEXUS reader!

    Three Top Deals!

    Silentmaxx Fanless 423W PSU (Was £151.58 now £114.99, saving you £36.59!) - http://www.quietpc.com/uk/hexus.php#423w

The Fanless 423W power supply is 100% fanless. This obviously means it does not make any noise whatsoever! The heat generated by the power supply is transferred to a large heatsink mounted at the rear of the power supply using a special patented heat transfer system (Silentmaxx guard the exact details of this very closely!). What is also very impressive about this power supply is that it provides 423 watts of power! So if you are looking for the highest quality fanless power supply on the market it does not get better than the Silentmaxx Fanless 423W!
    Scythe FCS-50 CPU cooler - (Was £34.06 now £27.99, saving you £6.10!) http://www.quietpc.com/uk/hexus.php#fcs50

The FCS-50 cooler comprises four main parts. Firstly we have the base; made from nickel-plated copper, it has a mirror-like finish which ensures the best possible contact between the CPU and the base of the heatsink. Next are the fins; forty vertical fins extend from the base of the cooler while thirty horizontal fins are positioned across the middle/top, which gives the FCS-50 an impressively large surface area. The third design feature is the 'shark like' side vents. These help to increase the airflow of the fan by sucking in cooler air from around the heatsink and therefore reduce the overall temperature of the cooler. Finally and most importantly, the heatlane effectively distributes the heat generated by the CPU to all attached heatsink surfaces. Traditional coolers lose thermal effectiveness towards the ends of their fins because they are furthest from the source of the heat. This problem does not arise with the FCS-50 because the heatlane is attached to both sides of the fins, ensuring excellent thermal transfer.
    Accent HTPC case - (Was £141.00 now £104.99, saving you £36.01!) http://www.quietpc.com/uk/hexus.php#htx01

The beauty of the Slimline HTPC case is that it is only 135mm high (excluding feet). This is 30mm smaller than the Standard model. This makes the Slimline version more attractive by giving it a more compact look.

The features that are described for the Standard Series are almost the same as the Slimline series, apart from the following compatibility issues. This is due to the height of the Slimline cases.

    Stop Press!
    Zalman VF700-CU - (Was £24.68 now £17.99, saving you £7.05!) - http://www.quietpc.com/uk/hexus.php#vf700

With nVidia and ATi releasing their next generation graphics cards that require more and more power, which in turn generates more and more heat it was only a matter of time before Zalman released a new quiet graphics card cooler, introducing the VF700.

im tempted to go for the fanless psu, but the lack of pci-e and 24 pin connector dosent make it much of a proposition for me.

Most people these days are going pci-e - can you do a hexus offer on a good up to date psu? fanless would be great

You pay the extra because it uses a more complex cooling system. it IS silent mate! The ultra X-connect has 500W and is quiet but isn't silent by any means.

EDIT: Bought a Zalman 700 and a zalman slim fan

Can you get atx to atx2 (i.e. 24 pin) adapters? Tempted by psy but it would be on a ong-term investment basis so would want it to outlive current motherboard.
