Please recomend me a MP3 Player and Earphones/Headphones

Hi all,

I’m thinking of buying my first MP3 player but I have no experience what-so-ever of mp3 players.

As for what I’m after: although looks are nice, internal quality is what I’m after, especially sound quality (if this actually differs on MP3 players? ). Having a colour display would be an added bonus but is not a necessity. An FM radio would be a good touch too My budget is quite open, but I’m thinking about £100 as an approximate max but I’m flexible for above and below that price as I have no idea whether i'll be able to get those features I mentioned for that price or not.

A friend said he liked the Philips HDD070 2GB which is apparently available for about £70, but reviews have not highly rated it.

If anyone can suggest what would be best for me it would be much appreciated .

Also, I’d like to know what earphones you would recommend for use with it, once again emphasis on quality over looks but hopefully something discrete, all for a reasonable price.

I know I’m asking a lot but if anyone can help out I would be more than grateful.
