Question Sony NWA3000S 20 GB HDD Walkman - Any good?

    Hey guys,

I've been toying with the idea of purchasing this thing for quite some time now, but I've been put off by people saying how shocking the CONNECT software is.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...169436-6704606

I was just wondering if anyone here has used it at all? Do you HAVE to use the software, or can you just drag and drop in windows explorer?

Any feedback would really be appreciated!

Connect is fine mate, not great but fine

its slow is all, and doesnt tell you whats happening so it seems like its crashed but eally its just working away at its own pace. But you have to use software, no drag and drop.
if you dont get on with connect download sonicstage 3.3 like i have, you lose some of the connect features such as song ratings/artist link, but its much quicker

the player itself is a excellent piece of kit, even with the stock headphones it sounds great, got mine about a month ago and i love it

mines hte silver one, its like a mirror, only curved so it distorts your face

    Looks really nice mate!

Another question: some people have said that it takes ages to swap between tracks (especially on shuffle mode)....is that true?

Oh, and does the battery really last 35 hours!?

35hrs is quoted using 64kbs (i think) atrac encoded music and no equalizer settings etc

i use 192kps or 320kps mp3 and my own equaliser settings and battery seems to last for ages

sometimes changing tracks does take a tiny bit of time or so on shuffle

Don't know how many of you here have played Final Fantasy VII, but I always think of Sony as being the mighty Shinra corporation
