If youre wanting to run homebrew stuff you need to either get a second hand one, or check the firmware (dont know if jap ones still ship with the old firmware) you need version 2, anything higher and your borked.
The original reason for buying from japan was the older firmware, but like i said, i dont know what uk or jap ones are currently shipping with.

Ok. First off. Do you want homebrew stuff to run on your psp? If you do, you need a psp with a firmware of either 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0. Anything above 2.0 can't run it properly yet, people are just taking the first steps into 2.0+ homebrew.

If you can, try to get a genuine japanese 1.5. These have the best screens and have the best firmware for running homebrew on.

If you want me to talk you through some stuff, pm me your msn messenger address and I'll help you out. I've been following the psp scene daily for a year now so I've got a good idea of what you need.

Lik-sang has the PSP gigapack jap in white for 174 and the value pack for £141 http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?cat...ducts_id=7925&

The jap ones have a better screen and are in english. The gigapack is worth spending the extra cash on to get the 1gb memory card.Lik-sang still have some PSPs with the 2.0 firmware. Which is great if u want to use the exploit to play homebrew

could try cex if you have one near by, they sell second hand jap ones for £87.50 with 12 month warrenty according to there website.

    http://www.cex.co.uk/product.php?sku=494887241081

you could allways pop in and test them to make sure you get what firmware you want.
