How do you guys manage such high overclocks at such low voltage? I keep trying to keep low voltages but it doesn't boot (I set to auto and it boots fine).

Edit: Ahh, I see the BIOS is to blame... Any recommendations?

I dont think either mine or supershanks' CPUs go very high without much voltage. Its just luck of the draw, each CPU is different.

Not sure where your looking to think that. 90% of my posted screen shots are at 9x400 to run that i'm at 1.525v my memory running at 1200 is at 2.3v , that is about the max i want to run my memeory 24./7 i make sure it has plenty of airflow

For stable 24/7 clocks i'd recommend 0311.

These are my settings 24/7 if there of any use:-
Note: You'd probably be best with transaction boost on auto to start with, not everyone can post with it on 1 or 2.

I forgot to say that I use 0302, it seems to be better than 0311 for my setup

Couldn't really push my system any further with 0404 BIOS. But this is the result of the overclock in my signature

Meant to ask about that your the only one i know mentiont 0302 i've never seen it was it a bta b4 0311?? May have been taken off b4 i got my board.

You've stuck with that haven't you, so we can't be sure whwt the difference is between it & 0311.

I tried 0311 for a few days, and my ram clocks werent as stable...ill try the newer bioses once I get my laptop back...knowing my luck this will drop dead

Was going to flash to 0302 just to try it, that file is only half the size of the 0311 & 0404 bios, not sure why or what it now is.
0302 = 1,048,576 bytes
0311 = 2,097,152 bytes

Ez flash understandably spits it's dummy out at that.

No idea on that one mate, there is a P5K vanilla 0302 bios as well, maybe thats what is in the download? This one I have on here, definitely said p5k deluxe, and I got it from a link off XS.

I think the original file is on my laptop which has gone in for repair, so cant get to that at the minute.

Did I see something in EZ flash where you can back up the bios...could try that if you like?

Edit: And I just thought of something else....maybe after a certain bios revision, it wont let you boot back to the old ones, like they did on the 965 boards?

Yep but at least the files were the same size. Got round that by using a certain version of afudos which sorted that.

Yep would have ago with a backup. Am just inerested to see the bench comparisons.

Damn knew there was summit elsr , meant to say does anyone else get the checking nvram message on post/boot??

Yep, mine does it, and so did both P5Bs...I think its just the check for the cmos memory, and nothing to worry about unless it hangs there.
