Belkin wireless router probs

ok guys i have a belkin adsl modem wireless-g router and i have it connected via ethernet into a pc.I am trying to set it up so that the router connects to the internet but its not working.We are using Wanadoo as a provider.Do i need to set it up as PPoE,PPoA,dynamic or static? Please help

Ok mate thanks I have tried pppoe but it does not seem to work. Everything says it is connected but it just will not work do I need to setup the pc with a normal internet connection to wanadoo first? My brain hurts as I thought this would be easy peasy.

Its PPP0A (Point-to-Point Protocol over ATM) if your in the UK, if your in the US however you would want PoPPE which is Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet.
so as your with Wannado then i assume your in the UK in which case its PPPOA. aslo your I.P address will be static.

Ok this is still not working everything says connected except the router itself. Is there some kind of security setting I need to disable? The provided easy install booklet is annoying me as its not bloody easy.

I also have a Belkin Wireless ADSL Modem Router (the 125 speed version). I am using it to connect to Nildram and here are my settings:

WAN-->Connection Type = PPPoA

WAN-->Connection Type-->PPPoA Interface
Username = ***
Password = ***
Retype password = ***
VPI/VCI = VC/MUX
Dial on demand = <unchecked>
Idle time (minute) = 0

This is slightly different to Gershwin's settings (he has Dial on demand checked, I have it unchecked). I wouldn't have thought it would make a difference though.

Use the Wizard to enter your settings which should be similar to mine. The router must be rebooted and you should eventually see the words "Connected" in green letters in the top right of the browser window when you are connected to the router.

I am assuming you are not using any kind of security (WEP, MAC) on your router at the moment.

Once the router says it is connected then you should repair your LAN/WiFi connection. In your system tray you may see your network icon, right-click on this and select 'Repair'.
