    PC World are a joke!!!!

Hello all (new here hope to help everyone on the forums!)

I brought a computer from PC World in December 2005 after 1 year of use with this computer I had a repair ever week over the year turned out to be 108 calls and 48 in 10 months!!!!!

I complained as I wasn’t happy and my 1 year warranty was ending. So PC World gave me a replacement PC with another 1 year warranty.

This new Packard Bell computer was fine till it started to play up they could repair it weeks and weeks went passed till I complained again and I got a replacement now im on my 2nd computer.

My 3rd computer was lovely it was so smooth till it went again, we started again with repairs with PC World and it went aver a month and the engineer said take it back to the store for a replacement!!!!

Now on my 4th computer from PC hard 3 hard drive replacements and the power supply unit just went PC world said it takes 7 days for stock!

Thank leaves me without my main pc disturbing my education!!!!

    sorry about my rant!

    Welcome to the forums!

Thats what you get when you buy things at pc world. Your lucky you got replacements. What was actually going wrong with them?
    With love and many thanks,

    Thanks BlindMelon7 -
LOL my parents think i autally break the compuers on purpose so i can get new ones. Well the PC i got now its overheating alot and PC World said its got to do witht he PSU when i know its either the fan or the cpu it self thats fault. I think if it takes more then 28 to rapir the PC now i am going to demand a refund or im taking legal action. Atm they said it will take 7 days for the PSU to be in stock. After 7 days 3 days for engineer booking. Then it still wotn work!

    world record!?!?!?!?

Anyways, this time I would definitely demand a refund and buy a pc from another more reputable firm of pc builders. You can ask for suggestions for that here, off the top of my head, mesh, evesham are decent, dell can even be good if you reinstall windows. Seriously, moral of the story is don't continue buying pc world computers.

This reminds me of a guy that came into our workshop last week; he brought his laptop in for repair, but was telling me about when he bought his new midi tower PC recently, it didn't have a floppy drive and he needed one.

He went to complain to PC World (rightly or wrongly isn't really relevant) to say that he was disappointed that it didn't have one, and they did him a 'favour'. They fitted him a (standard 3.5") floppy drive for the reduced price of £70. Reduced from £120. Very generous of them I thought.

Shocking isn't it? A £5 piece of hardware (if not less - i've no idea how much they cost these days) and 10 minutes to open the case, fit it, boot up and test it. Although he's been using computers for about 5 or 6 years, he's an old-ish and not particularly confident guy, so they obviously saw pound signs.

The bloke had heard of them, but was very stuck in his ways :-/

I think I managed to convince him to 'invest' in one anyway.
