    Question Amazon Returns

I picked myself up a pair of Shure e2gs from amazon about 6 months ago, and I've just noticed today that they cable has developed a crack about an inch away from the right earbud, Can anyone direct me to the bit on amazon's site where you get an rma number? Their returns 'wizard' tells me I have no items eligible for return.

Usually I'd take it up with shure, but in this case I've lost the details of the manufacturers warranty, so I suppose as a side question, does anyone have a pair? and if so could they let me have the contact details from the warranty leaflet?

I think the Amazon returns bit is mainly for their 30-day return program. Not sure about returning stuff later than that, but as you said you are probably better off going direct to the manufacturer..

I recently had to return an item to amazon as it was more-or-less DOA and it was really simple - replacement was sent express as soon as I reported it DOA and I had the replacement before I had had time to find a decent box to return the faulty one in (Amazon provided freepost label as well). All-in-all a pleasant experience...

If it doesn't appear on the online system, you can send them an email via the site quoting the order # and they are pretty quick at getting back to you.

Just the other week my Sony EX-71s lost all sound in the right ear, they just had me order a new pair and gave me a full refund when they arrived!

Very happy with the way they treated me.

Amazon's return system is really difficult to do as it's hidden under loads of options. Once you figure it out Amazon are really good at swapping or refunding items under warranty, possibly the best on the net.

my experience echoes the above. Amazon returns have always been good to me as well and one of the reasons I don't mind paying a bit extra every now and again and use them....

I have to say I'm fairly impressed, no response from shure as yet but I'm using the replacements as we speak, with the broken ones going in the post earlier today

I had a video recorder which I had had for 9 months, it then developed a fault...

To get a return you claim on their website...and they call you back.

They then decided to send me a cheque for the value of the item, of which they even collected even the same afternoon as I spoke to them!!

I've got the same problem but on both cables in about the same place(where it goes over the top of your ear). Can't remember where I got mine from but sounds like a general problem with the plastic they use to cover the wire.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Think it must be, that or we both have acid sweat.
Shure took a bout a week and a half to respond in the end, but had my refund from amazon by that point. Shure offered like for like replacement though, so you should be able to get it sorted through them.

    Re: Amazon Returns

    Again, echo the comments above.

Returned a freeview box 8 months after purchase. Once you've found the returns functionality, they are really fantastic, including posting me freepost parcels to return it in.
