Anyone know more info about these? Are they just a useless novelty or are they actually practical? The questions I want answered are: How long does it take to charge them? How many times can they be recharged? Can they be disposed of in general rubbish? (as normal batteries are mean to be disposed of specially), How can they be bought? (there's not even any hong kong sellers selling them on ebay)
Even searching on google brings up this page first! - These must just be a stupid usless novelty or else there would be more publicity for it?!?!?!

This is over hyped and the explanation is poor science. The energy comes not from the water (or other water based liquid) but from the magnesium metal in the battery, which will oxidise as the battery is used, until it runs out. You cannot get energy from water, it's the lowest energy state of any combination of hydrogen and oxygen. At 500 mAh the total energy available is only a fifth of what a good NiMH rechargable will store, and this can be recharged up to 50 times. It looks like a very expensive way of running your MP3 player!
The only use I can see is as an emergency energy source - but you'll need a lot of them, they'll run out quickly.
