Bit skeptical that it will replace AC in the hotter parts of the world.
I would love to see one of these in action, seems a bizarre concept to me at the moment.
The theory is an interesting one, but in terms of replacing PC cooling I'm not convinced they can be made compact enough/cheap enough to compete with current fans.

This sounded like it was full of awesome until I realised that 'bladeless' was a lie. Still pretty nifty, if rather over priced.

It isn't bladeless is it though ? There is a bladed fan in the base that is pumping air into the circular hoop assembly. Its like connecting a small fan to a pipe..
Basically yes, it uses a radial fan in the base similar to those that are used in compressors, which are far more efficient than your average axial desk fan.Originally Posted by Skii

Read more.The man who brought us the bagless vacuum cleaner has today unveiled the bladeless electric fan.
We've got an airblade drier at work that uses the same principal, but it's blooming noisy (like, close to impacting on H&S noisy).
How much dust can it shift into your case?
I've only used one in Paddington Station so it's hard to compare but it didn't strike me as being any more noisy (which is not to say that it was quiet in any way) that other high power hand driers, and it did do a really good job of drying my hands.
