    News - Gigabyte to launch super-overclocked Radeon HD 5870 - set to challenge Fermi

    only 950MHz? lame

    should just about beat fermi since GTX470 is supposed to be between 5850 and 5870 in performance.

    So, just to clarify, they've released a card that's clocked.. 31% faster on the core, 25% faster on the memory, than the 5970. But the 5970 has two of the slower 5870s, essentially making it.. 50% faster on the core, and 60% faster on the memory, than the 'super-overclocked' 5870. That's hardly close, even when taking in poor Crossfire support.
