Crikey Guvnor! One heck of a monster card that looks like.
Unsurprisingly, it's insanely expensive.
Don't think it's value for money myself, £550 for a 5970 2GB and £800 5970 4GB is a massive gap - £250 could be spent on a fair few other things as a priority. There might be a market from Eyefinity users who reckon they're filling the framebuffer, but I doubt it's a large one.
And if we're spending £800 on graphics, why not a 5970 2GB + 5850 Trifire... my money's on that outperforming a 5970 4GB

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
If its £800, you might as well ignore it and just decide between 1 or 2 standard 5970s. One saves you a lot of cash for a marginal speed penalty, two costs you a bit more (if you can afford 800 on a gfx card, you can stretch to 1100 ) and will give substantially better performance.

Only 2 dvis and a display port? Would have thought this would have been perfect for 6 display port connections.
The 5970 GPUs would clock down to the 5850 level in performance. Always takes the performance of the lowest card in Crossfire, like it does also in SLI.
I can't see this card being very good for GPU simulation - it'd kick out too much heat constantly, which I already have a problem with.
Too much power requirement - 2 x 8pins! eekk.. that electricity bill will go thru the roof!
And, too many fans = noise! Things need to run cooler.
I thought the 5970 was 2 5870's clocked down because of thermal limitations ?

Anyone remember the gtx 295 Mars from Asus?
I doubt it will see any significant numbers in retail due to very likely low demand and not to forget price.
Good try by ati for trying to take something from nvidias launch but this card is a beautiful piece of crowning jewellery thats too heavy and too expensive to wear.
