£85?!?!? Thats seems ridiculously high for a pair of stereo headphones. You can get good 5.1 cans £30 cheaper!

It's a 7.1 headset, not a stereo headset (Dolby Headphone for 5.1 and internal processing for 7.1).

You also pay triple or quadruple that though, it all depends on the quality you expect to recieve and the quality that you can percieve.

I payed £100+ for my DT880 stereo headphones and will probably pay even more for my next set.

Exclamation Re: Reviews - Exclusive: Corsair HS1 USB surround sound gaming headset

Having collectively used over 20 different headphones over the last 15 years and personally been something of an audiophile
I'm sorry but just that alone does not make you an audiophile. According to your belief, anybody could have listened to 15 models of Skullcandy and think they're an audiophile.

You clearly cannot describe audio reproduction well and should read up on your vocabulary for describing sound.

As it is, I take your review with a grain of salt.

Re: Reviews - Exclusive: Corsair HS1 USB surround sound gaming headset

this is one area i will quite happily spend money in, so do not see the cost as too excessive,

currently using my sennheiser hd-25 II (cost 140 new when i bought them) bought them for DJing but quite happily use them plugged in to the laptop for listening to music love the sound of them, good frequency response in the audible spectrum. a bonus that all the pieces are replaceable too if one happens to get damaged!

looking for a set of near field monitors at the moment... just cannot decide!
