Having read the guide... its not an easy mod imo. Those attempting it will need balls of steel . If it works

mmm its not that bad. Nothing different to changing the cooler on ur g-card and flashing ur bios. To be honest, after the whole 9500 debacle i thought they would ave made it harder......

Well, a little different to changing the cooler on your card. Firstly, there's no scraping of points invovled in that, and secondly, the card is unlikely to be brand new and have set you back 300 notes.

Still, if you've got a steady hand, it doesn't seem too bad. Balls of really hard plastic required perhaps, if not steel.

60% sucsess rate once done, according to another thread.

Problem is, after all that trouble and sweaty palms, the card you are modding only costs £50 less than the card you are trying to mod it to.

I think I'd just pay the 50 extra notes for an XT.

Good luck to anyonre having a crack though.

This is the sensible way to do thing, me thinks.

£50 extra, no risk, 100% guarentee of XT speeds and a warenty in tact.

Well yes, but you get all the special toys.

For the rest of us, the XT, at only £50 more than the Pro, makes any moding risky, for only £50 worth of gain.

    Theres always one show off

But for only a gain of £50 compared to nearly £100 when 9500s where being done to 9700pros it does seem to be a lot of work for what could be potentially little monatary gain.

Does nobody think that once the XT is released the pro will drop in price?

I would think it makes sense that it would being as it will no longer be the fastest in the land.

I thought the XT and XT PE was same card....

only sapphires seem to be modding at the mo

http://www.sapphiretech.com/vga/products.asp - if you go here it only lists a X800 Pro and X800XT not a XT PE as well so hence same gfx.

    Same here - http://www.connect3d.com/products/products_main.htm
