Depends what has the most impact. This pre-announcement snippet is a spoiler for the 560ti 448 release, and AMD are far enough ahead in the development process they want to stoke hype for the new chips - also because they've just missed coming out before Christmas so if you can't release then you better announce.
nVidia are in a tricky situation - the 560ti 448 was a little something to get Christmas sales, but they can't then go on about how good their next chips will be if either a) it's too soon to tell b) it would kill existing chip sales. AMD have timed the inventory stocking pretty well afaik.

Wonder if AMD can beat their previous disappointment achievement from this year with this 7000 series GPUS
i dont think thats entirely AMDs fault, the 6000 series wasnt really a planned release as it was formed because of TSMC scrapping the 32nm and going straight for the 28nm, this meant that AMD had to do something in the mean time and the 6000 did actually perform quite well considering the same size process, AA tessellation performance improved drastically from the changes.
Im pretty certain the 7000 series will blow everything away (only from this year ofc, we dont know how good Nvidia 600 will be!) as its a very different beast!.
Pure speculation at this point but i think everyone is expecting more of the same kind of improvements we have gotten used to from series to series. The engineers working on the AMD cards are brilliant so im really looking forward to the release, especially seeing as i think its time for me to get a new card
I think anyone considering get a 6870 now should just do it, there are some real bargains to be had on the run up to xmas, having just got one myself for £130 with Deus Ex, fair enough the 7000 is going to be a % better performance but it will have a price tag to match.
Are there any updates on today's event?
Haha again kalniel... reading over it again and yeah your right i think he did , eitherway the 6000 was awesome and even BD wasnt to bad its the fact that they released it to early, if they had released it with windows 8 it would have been far more successful but i guess AMD needed something down as the P2 was getting long in the tooth and a year is a long time .
