Lumia 920 for me. Bored with Android now and wouldn't touch an Iphone with a barge pole.

Neither - there are plenty of other phones on the market that suit me better.

I'll stick with my HTC One X but if I had to decide it would be the lumia. iTunes alone is still keeping me a considerable distance from getting an iPhone.

Re: Reviews - QOTW: iPhone 5 vs. Lumia 920, what's it to be?

Apologies in advance for all the brackets.

Honestly - I'm interested in the 920, dissappointed in the spec when it came out (mostly re: the camera not being the same PureView, colours (no cyan and gloss finish, nothing fatal) and will be delaying getting one to make sure it actually works, given that nobody has had a play with the software yet.

As a side note (and I know this won't affect many peoples decisions, even though it may affect their options)...
Microsoft appear to have escaped most of the patent wars (so far) through licensing agreements (that incidentally are making them a tidy chunk of cash e.g. for android sales too). Given how chummy Apple is with Samsung (and more recently - Motorola) - I'd expect to see some serious patent spats and attempts to ban the new iPhone (e.g. Samsung hold LTE/4G patents and as I understand it, these are not FRAND) in various regions in the very near future. Disabling this feature to escape any ban would only land them back in trouble for falsely advertizing the product (as 4G/LTE when it wasn't - a la 4S outside of North America). Given their history + ongoing bans /attempts to ban their own products, I can hardly see Samsung and co. letting Apple get away with this for long (granted on its track record, the US may just invalidate all non-apple patents to prevent banning of the iPhone but the ROW is probably a very different matter) or offering to remove the barrel that Apple will be over without suitable recompense (financial or revenge) for the issues Apple has caused for them previously.

Neither. Probably a Note II and a Surface Pro to replace my Sensation and Dell Laptop.

If I had to chose though a 920 every time, iOS is just horrible, it just feels like Duplo compared to the Lego of Android or WinPho. I'm tied into Google for services so I prefer Android.

Re: News - QOTW: iPhone 5 vs. Lumia 920, what's it to be?

920 for me, I like android but its the fragmentation that is the problem, and the 920 is truly unique, even with the new design, people know its just an iPhone now and when every other person has one its not really a cool thing to have, but who in the world has owned a yellow phone? probably no one, and thats probably a very similar case with the red, although slightly more popular, but you will never see a red iPhone which just makes it boring YAAWN

Re: News - QOTW: iPhone 5 vs. Lumia 920, what's it to be?

Although a bit boring Lumia 800 left the best impression I had in quite some time (measured in months since every month there is a new device out. I think I will go fo 920 so. iPhone is dead to me. I am sick of Apple politics. Had Samsung Galaxy S2 and S3 and.. While very nice phone it's like any Linux based system - compatible with Windows but still a toy. I like Lumia for nokia Maps mostly. The app has no equals in that field. Windows Mobile 7.5 interface is quite smooth too. I am interested what Windows Mobile 8 will bring and hope Lumia 920 will have all future iterations of Windows Mobile 8 too.

Would have to say this is one of the first nokia phones that has grabbed my attention really other than the PureView cameras. Wouldn't mind trying out Windows OS and would definitely take it over the iPhone.

Re: News - QOTW: iPhone 5 vs. Lumia 920, what's it to be?

Lumia 920. I've had two iPhones in a row (3g, 4) and I'm a little bit bored of them. The 920 feels newer, more innovative and much more exciting - and I love the look of Windows phone 8. That said, if the pricing is wrong I may re-consider - I'm expecting a significant saving over the iPhone 5, but if that doesn't happen I'll look at other WP8 phones and possibly even Android... maybe!

I like the way Lumia is attempting to make a bold statement and praise Nokia for its RnD work, however, it and Windows Mobile aren't for me, neither is the iPhone 5 for way more obvious reasons.

Re: News - QOTW: iPhone 5 vs. Lumia 920, what's it to be?

    Lumia all the way...

The Iphone 5 hasn't advanced the tech in it at all really, just stretched it and made it faster. Pointless IMO. Also Itunes would put put me off.

Not a fan of Android really... As others have said its too fragmented.

The Lumia is a great, and unique, looking phone with a modern, simple (but powerful) and unique OS.
I have the Lumia 800 (surprise, surprise) and it is a great piece of kit. Its not perfect - there are a few wee quirks with the OS I would like fixed but nothing major. Its solidly built too, I demonstrated this to a mate recently by hitting the screen off the edge of a table with some force and not even a scratch was left on it (he had recently broken his phone after dropping it from waist height so we were debating the subject).

If Nokia and MS keep churning out kit like this then I will be sticking with them for some time.
