I can't imagine this being cheap to add, and you'd have to get it re-done every time you dropped it anyway, probably costing a small fortune. Simple thing is, don't walk around with it so much that you are likely to drop it due to bumping into something because of not paying attention. Plus don't get such a stupidly expensive phone in the first place.

This is the normal persons answer to protecting a phone.

Only a nugget would come up with an air bag for a phone.

Mind you, if it were an apple idea, it would be called the ibag. ( copyright to me )

Could we use this as an emergency steam ironing device? Also, this potentially puts a "new spin" to dangers of bungee jumping and a risk of a heartburn on failed CEO suicide attempts... should make for some funny health & safety warning notices reading

Re: News - Amazon CEO secures patent for his smartphone airbag system

Stupidest thing I've seen in a long time - especially the 'springs' one. Most people I know who've smashed their phones have done so by dropping it on a corner - almost never does the phone land flat on its back.

Yeah, I think investing on a case would be cheaper as putting that technology inside the phone will only just increase if not already over priced phones.
