So, the take home from this is that the 650 Ti is horrendously hobbled by its 128bit memory interface? Hardly a shock, is it...

Re: Reviews - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB

The problem is that the HD7850 2GB can be had for £142 to £160 too.

The Powercolor HD7850 PCS+ 2GB could be had for the last month at around £153 on Ebuyer with two major games, and on Novatech is £157. It has a huge pre-overclock,and a very quiet cooler and is probably the best HD7850 2GB card. Bog standard HD7850 2GB cards can be had for under £150 if you shop around too.

Too many models to think about. I know they probably want to speedbin chips to get the most cash out of them, but I hate these excessive number of models.

Re: Reviews - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB

7850 is the clear choice for this price bracket.

The base 650Ti looks excellent value for sub £90 from Scan. Better than the 7770 at that price point.

Re: Reviews - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB

the non-boost will OC to about 1100 too; surely the better buy? £110-120 roughly.

Or two McGarrets and a hampden roar apparently.

EDIT: 2GB gives very little improvement over 2GB so you might as well go for teh 1GB at £90!

EDIT2: Comes with online game codes; easily sellable for Hawken WoT and LP2.

Re: Reviews - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB

A 1GB Boost would be better, given the extra bandwidth if it costs ~£20 more.

The card isn't bad, but not having the years biggest game so far included means the 7850 is the one to go for by a country mile.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I'm actually impressed how much better this is than the non boost version.

I don't understand why people are saying the 7850 is so much better? Performance seems nigh on identical and with the 1GB 7850 going EOL that leaves a nice little gap for the 650 Ti Boost (since it handily beats the 7790).

You get some game with the 7850.

There is a 1GB version coming out. Hopefully,it will be around £120 and should mean the GTX650TI and HD7790 go down to more sensible pricing.

An HD7790 at £90 to £100 would actually not be too bad as it also comes with a copy of Bioshock:Infinite too.

It's £20 more expensive (albeit the 1GB version but I feel that neither card really needs 2GB), if you check elsewhere on the web it's generally found to be ~10% slower than the 7850, and the 7850 comes with Tomb Raider and Bioshock.

Scan seems to be awfully quiet on this free game offer, do they not offer it?

Scan appears to have dropped it from the 7800's. Check eBuyer or elsewhere, there is an Asus on eBuyer that looks pretty decent at £133.
