I like the fact that this is an app launcher, so if we are bored we can just uninstall it

So an app thats constantly eating away your data allowance and then racking up big extra data bills.
Dear god no!!
(And if you think about just using it on the Wifi when you are at home what is the point as you have your PC, laptop, tablet there already and the experience is most likely better on them than your phone)
Each to his/her own, I guess, but personally, there is no way I would give the likes of Facebook that level of access, whether potential or actual, to data about me. Even if they gave me the phone, and paid the monthly running costs in full, I would not be prepared to carry it, let alone use it, unless I could be absolutely sure not a single root or tendril of this remained on it.
So if Facebook can supply this via Google Play, why can't HTC and Samsung supply Sense/Touchwiz via Play, and then update their phones more quickly?
What is facebook?
Apparently, you can just disable the Facebook home rubbish, and violá, you've got vanilla Android. Not sure if this means you'll get updates any quicker though...
