Wonder if this is actually true:

Edit to add: Link is to an article saying Wii-U sales rocket after announcement of Xbox One.

£70 more than the PS4. Always online, always listening, always restricting. Pointless TV integration, technically excellent but less useful for most games Kinect.

The reaction at E3 to the PS3's announcements, and the subsequent internet reaction, show that Microsoft has made some bad decisions this time around that will be very difficult to back out of.

If anyone thinks the PS4 will be calling back to Sony any less then the XBO then they are mistaken.

I'm not a big gamer, but I got a PS3 recently, picked up Gran Turismo 5. Stuck in the disc. 'Sorry, you must update before you can play'. Sit back and wait over an hour ... this is on a 40Mb+ connection and an SSD in the PS3.

Personally I miss the Xbox days where (okay, not strictly legally) you could rip the whole game disc to the HDD and not have to bother digging out the disc. For me that is a killer feature of the XBO - I don't use physical media for anything now (other than the inital rip to my server) so the ability to install the game then forget about the disc is great.

I did exactly this about a month ago and on a slower connection. It took about 6 hours before I could play the game.

As Microsoft don't have a head start, and their console is more expensive. They stand little chance of storming the market. They could still generate some decent sales though.

Re: News - Xbox One, released in November, will cost UK punters £429

High prices (to be expected) on hardware, high prices of software, being trapped into the Microsoft Bully eco system.....

This just leaves the door open to Android consoles. As said on other threads, Android consoles are not there this year, maybe not next year, but it won't be long until Microsoft and Sony will have to deal with Google on the console market.

I imagine that a decent Android console could clean up at this rate. I imagine an Exynos or Tegra based console could easily come in at under £100 and then the ecosystem is already there with the Play Store if needed...

The Xbox 1 hard drive cannot be replaced if it breaks down !!!
So does that mean that the console will be totally kaput ??

I would generally prefer microsoft over sony but a beat'em up and a pre-rendered cut scene are not selling this more expesnive less powerful console to me!

1:0 to sony and they have not even come out of the changing room yet!

Sony: no drm, better spec and cheaper price = win

MS: DRM, Perm connection required every 24 hours, no way to sell games on your own anymore, inferior specs, forces u to use kinect and is more expensive.

Only fanboys would go for a 'One' with regards to the above.

    Thoughts?

You do know that the PS4 downloads updates in the background whilst playing the exact same game waiting for the download to finish?

    seamlessly.

go read up on the ps4 and its OS before making any sweeping statements.

It would appear that your reply doesn't correspond to what you've quoted.

Re: News - Xbox One, released in November, will cost UK punters £429

I was getting worried. I sold my XBOX 360 a few weeks ago to focus on PC gaming... now I know I made the right choice.

Sorry Microsoft, I want to play games more than I want to integrate my life with one [in]convenient "Does-it-all" box with less than impresive features that have no bearing on providing the ultimate gaming experience.
Cut all the crap out of the machince, get rid of the kinect 2.0 and knock of £150 from the price and I will come running back. Until then... Steam "Big Picture" here I come.

I was thinking this exact thing. Just imagine if MS turned around and said the XBO will now be £299 or £329 at launch, all of a sudden they will be back in the game.

This is quite amusing to be honest:

On the XBO price announcement, you could've heard a pin drop if it wasn't for the occasional booing!
