Its all good....
Will give it a go over the weekend, seeing as I'm already using 8.0
Yup, been running Technet on one machine since they slipped it out a month or two ago. Personnally was happy enough with 8 anyways...
Getting rid of a Windows 8 laptop but not because of Windows 8, have found it good after I installed Start8. I tried some Metro apps but found they weren't as good as browsing the website. Netflix and Khan Academy apps were well laid out but they lacked functionality that the websites had, for example "My List" was missing from the Netflix app but is present in the Android app and on the website.
As a desktop OS it is great, love the new task manager, storage spaces is awesome although useless to me on the laptop and I like the changes to explorer allowing you to pin your most used tools to the window above the ribbon, which you can hide, is great. If I could get Windows 8.1 for £30-40 then I probably would but otherwise I don't think the improvements are enough for me to spend more. I'll wait until the next release and hope they do some pre-orders for £30-40 like they did with Windows 7, it is the only reason I'm on Windows 7 rather than Vista to be honest.
Ive been waiting for this.
I have had a free windows 8.0 upgrade waiting since last December but as I plan to deploy it on a standard desktop PC I did not want to invest the time/efort in swithcing from the really quite excellent Windows 7.
I'm looking forward to having a play now.
I upgraded my HTPC last night only because it was already running win8 and I couldn't see 8.1 being any worse.

I would but my cpu is no longer supported in 8.1 x64 so I'm stuck with Windows 8.0 x64, downgrading to x86 or reverting back to Windows 7 x64. Nice money grab from MS there...
It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't need x64 or the fact that in 2 years 8.0 users MUST upgrade to 8.1 to continue getting support updates.... lovely....
Already installed on my desktop at home. Works fine. Had to reinstall the drivers on my MSI GTX660ti as games looked odd other than that it was flawless. I like the new features especially windows explorer.
Updated my desktop pc and my surface rt (from 8.0). All quick (allowing the 2-3gb download) and no problems installing.
As for the "desktop", Im using AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, etc, as well as Word, Excel etc daily often running at the same time with multiple file explorer windows open. Really don't see what the issue is.
Upgraded today from 7.
No issues to report.
Apart from fact that the upgrade reset the keyboard to American layout meaning I could not log in until I had worked that out - (stupid MS) I am struggling to see what the fuss was about.
Oh, and someone at MS believes that the right colour scheme is to use as many day glo colours as possible in one place.
Hell yes, its free ! Don't expect the next one to be...
Nope, I am happy with what I have so there is no need.
Seeing as its not in windows store, no.
might be because im running an enterprise edition, but mate of mine using Pro couldnt find it either, both copies are legit and from the same source.
